what's the deal

update: My attention to personal projects has declined. I am now focused on school work and really trying to find time to return over due books to my library.

 

I have been working with halftones lately. I recently came into a lot of paper and I am scrambling to put together a new zine. It will probably be Dirty Hands #2  This next issue will be full bleed and contain a few photographs that I have taken. I might overlay them with images or create borders I am not sure yet. But hopefully I can get all of this done with in the fall.

I found these two pages of a comic that I was doing back in 2008? I remember this was after I graduated from high school and most likely from my freshman year at columbia? 

I had a vague concept of a storyline and I know that I stopped doing this comic because I had no idea how to end it. Its funny because you can definitely see an Anders Nilsen influence in it.

So I have spent a greater part of these few weeks painting. I took a mental break from drawing and really doing comics mostly because I was just exhausting myself. Instead I picked up painting, something that I did more of in the past and am sort of picking it up now again. The two paintings are still a work in progress.

 

Also I have a new work space! I got this spare room for myself which is nice because I finally have a comfortable setup for my drafting table.  The only downside is this is in a room that was once part of a garage so its design differently, it has carpeting and no heating or air conditioning. It sometimes gets really hot in there.
