Wanderlust part 2

Part 2 of wanderlust. Wait for part 3 next week

Also on a side note I am loving the work of Till Hafenbrak. The strong geometric shapes that make up the characters and settings of his work are really quite impressive, very bold and simple. His use of coloring is also quite nice, they almost remind me of silkscreen posters or graphics from the 60s.

Zine Fest wrap up

Chicago Zine fest came and passed it was quite the trip. The two photos on the top are the views from my table. It was taken towards the end of the fest so there was less people, but let me tell you around 2pm or so it was packed. The second photo has brad (B-RAD as I called him) in the foreground we both split table 34. He also turned me on to the fugs. They made this song called nothing you can check it out here --------> link

I definetly enjoyed my time. I left with some awesome zines. Some of my favorites are in this photo.
I must admit I am a sucker to comics and stuff with pictures, so all these are either comics or stuff with pictures in them.

Just to name the list from top left to the bottom right: Movable Types: the tramp printers by Kara Sievewright, the velvet cave #6 by tuesday bassen, motte & bailey by krystal difronzo, Nice Tat by erik schneider, Hondo Saga by pete hillstrom, losing sight by ben bertin, postcard from rar rar press, wolfman Chicago's quest for real boots by nate beaty, good Minnesotan #4 a collection of various comics and work from Minnesota.

So yeah zine fest was pretty cool, lets see what next year brings.

the day before

So I am preparing for zine fest all this week. And I finally have everything printed. This photo here is everything that I will have at zine fest, mostly zines, my block printed sticker, and a silk screened poster.

I am really excited/nervous about it, because like I said before I never went to zine fest last year and I have never really had a table to sell my work like this before so it will be a new experience.

well that's all I will post my experience after and some photos too.

zines and more zines

see all of that, those are two boxes full of zines and I will have some more printed tomorrow. So why all the zines?

well I will have a table at the upcoming Chicago zine fest.

It is this Saturday the 26th from 10-5 pm, at the Conaway center, Columbia College Chicago 1104 S. Wabash Ave.

I have some some mini comics, random drawings and art zines,  I am hoping to block print some stickers to sell along with the zines. Maybe I will bring out some old prints.

So for those who are around that Saturday stop by and say hi.

Jacks Big Score

Two page comic that I recently made. Jack is a actually a combination of two people that I used to work with, I always wondered what their life was like outside of work and well the result is this.

I'm busy

Yep, more on this latter. But I'm pretty tired and I really don't want to start visualizing data for my project that is due on Tuesday.

Printed things that are great.

I have here in this photo a wonderful little mini comic from  fellow blogger/pal/classmate/comic-maker, Kevin Budnik.

Our Ever Improving Living Room is a diary comic focusing on personal expiernces, somtimes the mudane, the sweet little joys of life as well as the awkward ones. Coming in at 28 pages total, its a great read.

Check out Kevin's blog to see updates and more of his work------------------> Link

This my friends is a short mini from fellow blogger/pal/classmate/comic-maker/facial-hair-supporter, Eric Roesner.

I traded this sticker I made for this and it was totally worth it. Whats in side you might ask? A reinterpretation of Frans Masereel wordless story, but Eric here  made it with aliens and some saucy alien conception as well.

Check out Eric's blog for more saucy work-------------------------------------->Link
